The Renewable Energy Goals

Sustainability, and in particular the shift to renewable energy, is one of the most important challenges of our time. Governments and companies around the world are striving to maintain a more sustainable energy mix and become less dependent on fossil fuels. Furthermore, the demand for electricity is also increasing enormously in the coming years and decades due to the electrification of industry and transportation. Every day, ocean waves are charged with at least 990 times more sustainable energy than our world needs. According to the IEA-OES, Annual report in 2007, it is estimated that 80,000TWh of electricity per year can potentially be captured from ocean waves – sufficient to meet our global energy demand five times over.
